Hologic

Hologic Costa Rica built an 18 000 m2 (194000 sf) manufacturing plant in the Coyol Industrial Zone. With a current labor force of more than 500 employees, Hologic is a leading developer, manufacturer and supplier of premium diagnostic products, medical imaging systems, and surgical products dedicated to serving the healthcare needs of women throughout the world.

It is expected that in three years Hologic CR will employ over 750 in its Coyol Free Zone plant.

Continental

The new site in Coyol Free Zone will have production and office space covering more than 16,000 m˛ (172,000 sf), manufacturing control units for engines and transmission systems for passenger cars produced in the NAFTA region. Project start has been delayed to 2012. A critical factor for choosing Costa Rica as the location for the new plant is the high standard of education among the local population. The company is confident it will find skilled production line staff as well as highly-trained process and quality engineers.

Beam One

BeamOne is a private company that provides hundreds of customers with sterilization services using environmentally superior electron beam technology, applying best-of-breed practices that have lead BeamOne throughout a long and successful history in the field of electron beam medical product sterilization while continues its focus on the concepts of superior customer service and high quality processing.

Formed in 2004, BeamOne’s machines have logged more processing hours than any other e-beam company worldwide, a large number of customer across industries and markets (medical device, pharmaceutical, tissue banks, etc – for both: direct and contract manufactures); on a 7/24 basis at its four operating facilities (California, Colorado, Ohio & in January 2009 its newest service center in Alajuela, Costa Rica) along with its long-range business plan that expands to build and commission new service centers at regular intervals throughout the U.S. and Latin America makes BeamOne #1 for sterilization services.

MOOG

Moog Inc. is a designer, manufacturer and integrator of precision precision motion and fluid controls and systems for a range of applications in aerospace and defense, industrial and medical markets. The aerospace and defense products and systems include aircraft flight controls, satellite positioning controls, thrust vector controls for space launch vehicles, controls for homeland security products.
